The Top 5 Open Source Applications
This of course will be applications for general use only. This will not be a list for the few developer visitors here.
Firefox
Everyone has to browse the web to really utilize the internet. Why not be smart when browsing as well.
Thunderbird
Cause everyone reads email right? Yes you could use outlook, but why not customize your web client the way you want it to be.
Clam AntiVirus
How smart would it be to use security software that is free to the masses, and has more ‘consumer input’, in feature requests, virus detection, Graphical User Interface, the list goes on and on.
VLC Media Player
There’s nothing ‘pretty’ about this media player, but when it’s portability AND flexibility out of the box, puts VLC above most other media players out there.
Pidgin IM
And last but not least, everyone uses an Instant Messenger Service. No matter if you use AIM, YIM, MSN, GTalk, Jabber, ICQ. . .or all of them. You can sign into one, or all of them with this program.
Conclusion
